Vidya Pratishthan's Magarpatta Public School clinched the NIE Times of India Quizomania, an inter-school quiz competition , for the third time in a row. The quiz was conducted on Tuesday. Among six finalists, the participants of Magarpatta school came from behind in the last two rounds with sharp and accurate answers to win the thrilling contest.

The trio from Podar International School, Chinchwad, emerged as the first runners-up, while Wisdom World School, Wakad, was the second runner-up. The quiz was conducted by quizmaster Gaston D'Souza at Balgandharva Rangamandir and sponsored by Shiksha Gurus. More than 100 schools from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, and one school each from Kolhapur and Ahmednagar, participated in the quiz.



Six schools made it to the finals. Bhargav Kavitake, one of the participants from Magarpatta Public School, has been part of the winning team all three years. He was nicknamed a pocket dynamo due to his lightning-fast responses and smart answers.

Bhargav, a Std X student, said, "I have been preparing for the quiz through online videos and websites on maths and logic puzzles. I also watch the popular television show KBC for general knowledge questions." His teammates, Ansh Desai and Shiven Harani, said they were proud to be part of the winning team.

They said they read newspapers to improve their knowledge of current affairs, along with books. The Magarpatta school team, after trailing by 20 points at the end of the third round, pulled up their socks aga.
