Music legend Madonna has broken her silence on her brother Christopher Ciccone's death at age 63 with a heartbreaking tribute. The singer, 66, took to her Instagram to post a carousel of photos featuring her and Christopher, who died following a battle with cancer. Christopher — who worked closely with his famous sister, first as her assistant, stylist and artistic director before becoming a residential interior and furniture designer — died peacefully in Michigan, with husband Ray Thacker and their loved ones at his bedside.

The pop star began her heartbreaking tribute post by saying: "My brother Christopher is gone. He was the closest human to me for so long. Its hard to explain our bond.



"But it grew out of an understanding that we were different and society was going to give us a hard time for not following the status quo."
