Madifushi Private Island has embarked on an ambitious Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to plant 5,000 coconut palms across the islands of Meemu Atoll over the next year. The project was officially launched on November 25th at M. Rayimandhoo with the participation of Madifushi Private Island's management, MIC Group board members, and representatives from local and island councils.

Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, Managing Director of MIC Group, expressed gratitude to the local councils for their support. He highlighted the company's dedication to fostering strong relationships with the communities of Meemu Atoll. 'We are deeply thankful to the councils for the support they have shown to our team,' he said.



'It is our commitment to reciprocate this kindness by working closely with the communities in the atoll, providing opportunities, and strengthening our collaboration. Under our CSR responsibility, we aim to forge stronger relationships between the group, the resort, and the islands of Meemu Atoll”. Ali Shakir, Group General Manager of MIC Group, emphasised the resort's dedication to promoting sustainability and community empowerment, reiterating the importance of the coconut palm planting project as a significant step toward achieving these goals.

In collaboration with local communities, Madifushi Private Island has identified key areas across Meemu Atoll for coconut palm planting, including mosques, schools, newly reclaimed lands, and the upcoming domestic airport.
