Friday, July 19, 2024 Madhya Pradesh , renowned for its safety and appeal to solo female travelers, captivates adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts with its monsoon charm. During this season, the state’s vibrant greenery, abundant waterfalls, and refreshing climate offer a perfect setting for unique adventures. Following the successful Tour de Satpura, a 200-kilometer cycling journey through the Satpura Range, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is excited to host the Sixth Edition of the Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon.

This event, in partnership with Adventures and You, is set for Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at the MPT Glenn View Resort in Pachmarhi. This locale, amidst the stunning Satpura ranges, provides a spectacular run setting enhanced by the cool, moist air of the monsoon. The marathon caters to various skill levels and ages with several race categories.



The 5K Family Fun Run is ideal for beginners and families looking for a relaxed jog, while the 10K Endurance Run challenges participants to a moderate distance to gauge their stamina and speed. More seasoned runners might opt for the 21K Half Marathon or the demanding 42K Full Marathon, which includes a significant uphill challenge, offering a rewarding experience amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Pachmarhi. In 2023, Madhya Pradesh set a new tourism record with 112.

1 million visits, tripling the previous year’s figures. The Tourism Board is actively working to enhance the state’s appeal as a diverse and inclusive tourist destination. This year, plans include introducing yoga and meditation retreats, developing trekking paths in national parks, and launching new attractions and cruise services to elevate Madhya Pradesh’s presence on the global tourism stage.

New cruise initiatives are underway, including routes from the Miakal Resort in Bargi near Jabalpur to Tindini in Mandla, and from Dharaji in Dewas to Sailani Tapu near Omkareshwar. Additionally, the Tawa-Madhai cruise is set to be upgraded to offer novel experiences to visitors. “Cruise tourism, all-women rides, women’s safety, wellness, and rural vacations will be integral parts of our initiatives this year,” said Sheo Shekhar Shukla , Principal Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
