Wednesday, November 13, 2024 Madeira has become a top destination for golfers worldwide, drawing enthusiasts to its three world-class golf courses: the 27-hole Clube de Golf Santo da Serra, crafted by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones; Palheiro Golf, designed by Cabell B. Robinson; and Porto Santo Golfe, the masterpiece of Spanish golf legend Seve Ballesteros. Golfers can enjoy all three courses at a single price through the Madeira Golf Passport, which covers green fees and transport.

Adding to its appeal, Ryder Cup icon and six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo is currently developing Madeira’s fourth course, Ponta do Pargo, set to open in 2026. This month, Madeira will proudly host the prestigious World Golf Awards and World Travel Awards, further solidifying its status as a premier global destination for sports and tourism. Madeira’s golf clubs and the archipelago itself are nominees for top industry honors.

Just 500 kilometers from Africa, Madeira offers a sub-tropical climate perfect for year-round golfing. Beyond the greens, Madeira is celebrated for its lush landscapes and over 30 unique wine varieties, making it a paradise for both golfers and explorers. This new connection enables passengers to access 89 airports across the US, Canada, and Mexico through United Airlines and partner networks.

As Madeira continues to gain popularity as a premier golf destination, the airline’s expansion will meet the growing demand among global travelers. Marcel Fuchs, managi.
