Saturday, January 25, 2025 In anticipation of the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday, Macau International Airport (MIA) has announced the addition of 58 flights to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic. This strategic move aims to ensure a seamless travel experience during one of the busiest periods of the year. Increased Passenger Traffic Expected With reservation rates for passenger tickets already exceeding 90%, MIA is preparing for a significant increase in cross-border movements during the CNY holiday, which runs from January 28 to February 4, 2025.

The Macau Public Security Police Force projects that the city will experience between 5.04 million and 5.36 million border crossings during this period, with an average daily volume of 630,000 to 670,000 people.



Collaborative Efforts to Optimize Flight Schedules To manage the heightened demand, Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) has partnered with various airlines to optimize flight schedules. The additional 58 flights will connect Macau to key destinations, including mainland China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia. This expansion not only caters to the increased travel demand but also strengthens Macau’s connectivity within the region.
