Tuesday, October 22, 2024 The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) arranged a familiarization visit for overseas tourism office representatives based in Hong Kong to Dong’ao Island and Guishan Island in Zhuhai. Held on October 18-19, the visit was aimed at promoting multi-destination travel routes and raising international awareness of the tourism potential of Macao and Zhuhai. The delegation included representatives from countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, and Samoa, along with Macao Government Tourism Office’s market representatives.
They were joined by officials from Zhuhai’s tourism and culture sectors. During the visit, delegates explored the islands’ cultural attractions, hotel facilities, and ongoing development projects. The initiative is part of Macao Government Tourism Office’s efforts to expand international tourism markets and reinforce Macao’s position as a global center of tourism and leisure.
The new ferry route connecting Macao’s Taipa to Zhuhai’s Guishan Island, which was inaugurated in July 2023, further enhances the region’s tourism collaboration and potential for multi-destination travel..
