Three people were injured in a crash on the M60 near Oldham last night (Friday, January 3), which saw a car set on fire. Shortly before 8pm, a crash involving three cars took place between J22 for Oldham and J23 for Ashton-under-Lyne clockwise. It led to the route being closed for around three hours while the fire service, police and ambulance service all attended.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly before 8pm yesterday evening (Friday 3 December), three fire engines from Hollins, Chadderton and Ashton fire stations, along with the enhanced rescue unit from Ashton, were called to attend an incident on the M60.” “Crews worked quickly to extinguish a car which had set on fire following a road traffic collision involving three vehicles.
