The scheme targeted legitimate clients who were unaware their money was being transferred to second-tier companies. A total of 15 people have been jailed over their roles in the fraud scheme, including Adam Cranston and co-conspirator Dev Menon who received 15 years' imprisonment in August 2023 for their roles as key facilitators. The Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce confiscated $15.
8 million from a principal conspirator of the scam including five properties, three vehicles and smaller luxury items such as watches. Proceeds from the sale of seized assets are redistributed to support crime prevention, law enforcement and other community initiatives.
