Saturday, July 20, 2024 Lux-Airport and Luxair wish to inform the public about the ongoing global technology outage affecting various sectors, including the airline industry. The outage, caused by disruptions in Microsoft and CrowdStrike servers, has led to operational challenges for several airlines and airports worldwide. While Luxembourg Airport’s systems remain unaffected, airlines operating from the airport have reported issues.

Luxair confirms that airport operations in Luxembourg continue as usual. However, both their online and offline booking systems have experienced instability, potentially affecting reservation and modification capabilities. Luxair’s technical teams, in collaboration with partner organizations, are working diligently to resolve the issue promptly.

Passengers are advised that despite stable conditions in Luxembourg, destination airports might face more significant impacts, leading to possible flight schedule changes and delays. Lux-Airport is actively managing the situation, particularly for affected airlines and service providers. Notably, Ryanair has encountered system issues, prompting Luxair Ground Handling to manually check-in and board passengers for flights to Malta, Seville, Lisbon, and Milan-Bergamo.

Additionally, Turkish Airlines flights TK1356 from Luxembourg to Istanbul and TK1355 from Istanbul to Luxembourg have been canceled. While no other airlines have reported confirmed impacts, passengers should anticipate potential delays and cancellations. It is recommended that travelers check their flight status with their respective airlines and stay updated through their preferred communication channels.
