Prayagraj:On the lines of airport, the facility of a luggage trolley will now be available at Prayagraj Junction . However, unlike airports, this service will not be free for the passengers as tariff rates have been fixed for the same. Passengers will also get the facility of a wheelchair, Over-the-counter medicines, sanitary pads, diapers, hot milk, etc.
, from a single counter. This facility will soon start at 19 other stations of North Central Railways (NCR). After Prayagraj Junction, Chheoki will be the next station where this facility will be provided.
Along with this, it will be opened at Kanpur Central and Aligarh railway station. Later, it will be opened at another 15 stations. A passenger facility centre has also started at the main hall of city side of Prayagraj Junction and platform number six of the Civil Lines side.
The operation of passenger facility centre at the junction has been given to an agency named Response Cargo Movers . Through this, facilities like taxi service, hotel, retiring room, tour package booking, online ticket booking for travel, food order through IRCTC, water, OTC medicines, sanitary pads, diapers, hot milk, etc., will be available.
However, the charge for the luggage trolley will be Rs 150 and Rs 250. The same rate has been kept for the wheelchair as well. Currently, wheelchairs are given free of cost to the passengers by the railways.
"After Prayagraj, passenger facility centres will open at Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Chheoki, and Aligarh Junction. The date of its opening will be announced soon," said Senior DCM, Prayagraj Division, Himanshu Shukla. It will also be provided at Mirzapur, Tundla, Khurja, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Panki Dham, Kanpur Anwarganj, Govindpuri, Fatehpur, Manikpur, Vindhyachal, Chunar, and Sonbhadra, he added.
