Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Lufthansa Technik experienced a 12% increase in filled industrial positions this year, driven by high demand and the introduction of new dual study programs. Lufthansa Technik saw a significant increase in applicants for industrial professions this year, with a 12 percent rise in filled positions at the Hamburg site alone compared to the previous year. Besides a variety of apprenticeships, the company also offers dual study programs, including a new program in real estate management introduced for the first time this year.

“We are proud to welcome so many motivated and talented young professionals to our company again this year,” said Andrea Jacobsen, Head of Entry Programs at Lufthansa Technik. “The ability to fill 94% of the advertised positions reflects the great interest and trust young people have in our high-quality training and shows that our recruitment measures are successful.” In June, the company had just launched its new employer brand: “Taking off together” describes what is important to employees at Lufthansa Technik – to work together with great pride and passion, helping make aviation better every day while continuing to grow both personally and as a team.

We are confident that our new strong employer brand will help us stand out from the competition and attract the right applicants to our company,” explains Cristina Maack, one of the two Heads of People Brand at Lufthansa Technik.

To address the ongoing high demand for qualified personnel, Lufthansa Technik is implementing a comprehensive approach that includes extensive training programs and diverse recruitment activities. The company is now focusing on candidates who have previously been overlooked, such as international applicants and individuals of retirement age through the “Senior Experts” program introduced last year. The “women@LHT” initiative aims to enhance workplace diversity by attracting more women to Lufthansa Technik.

Additionally, strategic partnerships with universities are in place to strengthen recruitment efforts. Lufthansa Technik is also working to improve the application and onboarding processes by offering user-friendly application methods, including the option to apply via WhatsApp. Special welcome events are organized to support new employees during their initial days with the company.

Among the 339 new traineeships and study places, 239 are offered directly by Lufthansa Technik AG, 51 by Lufthansa Airline’s technical operations, and the remainder by companies within the Lufthansa Technik Group. This year, women represent 9 percent of traineeships and 24 percent of study placements. Here are the article categories based on the provided training figures:.
