Lufthansa Group is planning to hire up to 10,000 staff over the next year, including more than 2,000 flight attendants and 800 pilots. This falls short of 2024's target of 13,000 new hires as the airline group continues to drive down costs and streamline its operations. Lufthansa Group - which operates a stable of airlines including Lufthansa , Austrian Airlines , Brussels Airlines , Discover Airlines , Eurowings and SWISS - is looking to bring in thousands of flight attendants, ground staff, technicians and administrative staff, as well as up to 800 pilots across its airline portfolio. Over half of its recruitment will take place in Germany. Of its new hires, a "particularly large number" of new staff are needed at its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) division, Lufthansa Technik, with around 2,000 recruits targeted for this year.
