Sunday, September 15, 2024 Lufthansa Cargo is set to debut a new route in its winter schedule, connecting Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) for the first time. This marks a significant milestone as Lufthansa Cargo bridges the United States and Asia with direct cargo flights. The launch of this new service is made possible by the recent addition of Lufthansa Cargo’s 18th Boeing 777F, which arrived fresh from Boeing’s Seattle facility in mid-August.

The aircraft, registered D-ALFL, continues the airline’s tradition of naming its planes after key destinations in its global network, accompanied by a greeting in the local language. Lufthansa Cargo’s winter operations are gearing up for a busy season, with plans to conduct 89 weekly flights using its 777F fleet. The airline will also continue to utilize its smaller A321Fs for medium and short-haul routes across Europe, flying 34 times a week from its hubs in Munich and Frankfurt.

Another notable change for the winter schedule includes an additional weekly flight on the Tel Aviv (TLV) to Cairo (CAI) route, serviced by a 777F. Meanwhile, European routes remain largely unchanged, with the Munich (MUC) to Istanbul (IST) service that was introduced in June continuing to operate. This strategic expansion underscores Lufthansa Cargo’s commitment to enhancing global trade connections and bolstering its network to meet growing demand.
