Big Talk Studios is reportedly receiving interest from writers about a potential U.S. remake of the just launched David Mitchell-led British comedy-crime series “Ludwig”.

Created by Mark Brotherhood, “Peep Show” star Mitchell played John Taylor, a reclusive puzzle maker who publishes puzzle books under the pen name Ludwig. His identical twin brother, James Taylor, is a successful DCI in the Cambridge police. When James goes missing, his wife Lucy (Anna Maxwell Martin) enlists John’s help to solve the mystery.



John poses as his brother to infiltrate the local police station to investigate, and becomes inadvertently embroiled in solving other cases. The series became the BBC‘s biggest comedy launch since 2018, watched by 9.5M people, and has been presented to the market with early talks reportedly underway with potential showrunners on a U.

S. take trying to cash in on the ‘soft crime’ genre ala “Only Murders in the Building” and “Monk”. The UK version has already been renewed for a second season, and BritBox has closed a deal to stream the first two seasons in the U.
