Birth: October 16, 1935 Death: August 17, 2024 Lucille O. Hudson OBITUARY Lucille Ohnmeiss Hudson, 88, affectionately known as “Lue,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 17th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family and holding her husband’s hand.

Born on Oct. 16, 1935, in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Murnane) Ohnmeiss. Lue graduated from the Williamsport High School class of 1955 and furthered her education at the University of Miami and the University of North Carolina, where she became a registered Certified Dental Assistant.



Her professional journey was diverse and impressive. She also worked as an assistant chemist for Armour Leather Research Labs. Her passion for helping others led her to St.

Matthew’s Catholic School, where she dedicated over 10 years to various roles, her favorite being school nurse. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart left a lasting impact on the students and staff. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Richard “Rock” Arden Hudson, beginning her adventure as a USMC spouse.

Their 63 years of marriage was a testament to their deep love and unwavering commitment to each other. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories. In addition to her husband, Retired USMC Capt.

Hudson, she is survived by their beloved children: Megan H. (John) Gawne, Marina R. Marchesani, Shauna H.

(Doug) Hogg, and Retired USMC Col. Kevin M. (Jolie) Hudson.

She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren; Hayleigh, Amanda, Carlye, Alley, Sydney, Tanner, Andrew, Sean, and Keely; and a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Lue also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Donald, John, Cornelius, Robert, Paul, and Joseph; and four sisters Claire, Anastasia, Marguerite, and Mary Ellen.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Lue’s life on Friday, Aug. 23rd from 2:00 p.m.

to 4:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Rd, Virginia Beach, VA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 3314 Sandra Lane, Virginia Beach, VA at 11:00 a.m.

on Saturday, Aug. 24th. Following the service, family and friends are asked to join in the church hall where food and refreshments will be served.

Lue will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date, a fitting tribute to her and her husband’s dedication and service. In lieu of flowers, Lue asked that memorial contributions be made in her name to the Semper Fi & America’s Fund at www.thefund.
