Lucid Motors Vice President of Global Communications Nick Twork has clarified a key detail about the upcoming Gravity SUV. As per the Lucid executive in a post on social media platform X, the production Lucid Gravity will only have one charge port, contrary to the development cars that are being spotted today. “The production Lucid Gravity will have one charge port.

Some development cars have two charge ports for testing purposes,” Twork wrote in his post on X. The executive, however, did not clarify if the production Lucid Gravity would be equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS) or a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. The production @lucidmotors Gravity will have one charge port.

Some development cars have two charge ports for testing purposes. The Lucid VP of Global Communications’ update was received positively on social media, with electric vehicle community members noting that a single charge port for the upcoming all-electric luxury SUV makes sense. Having a single charge port would likely make it simpler for drivers who are switching from combustion-powered cars to a Lucid electric vehicle, after all.

Reports about the Lucid Gravity’s two charge ports made the rounds on social media recently, with some electric vehicle enthusiasts noting that one of the vehicle’s charge ports will be for CCS while another would be for Tesla’s NACS. Considering that the Gravity is expected to enter production in late 2024 , it would not be surprising if it initially ships with a CCS port. Tesla’s NACS page also indicates that Supercharger access for EVs from Nissan, General Motors, Volvo, Polestar, and Mercedes-Benz are “coming soon.” Lucid’s electric vehicles are not part of Tesla’s “coming soon” list as of yet. Don’t hesitate to contact us with news tips.
