LSU athletic director Scott Woodward accepted the trophy Saturday on Daniels' behalf.

The Tigers now, officially, have three Heisman trophies, won by LSU greats Billy Cannon (1959), Joe Burrow (2019) and Daniels (2023). Daniels was awarded the Heisman after leading LSU’s historically productive offense last season, when he posted the highest passer rating in FBS history. In 2023, no quarterback rushed for more yards than Daniels (1,134), who also led the country in total yards, yards per pass attempt and yards per play.

The Washington Commanders then selected Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick of the NFL draft. On Monday, he’ll face Burrow’s Cincinatti Bengals in a meeting between two of LSU’s three Heisman winners.

That game will kick off at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN.
