After his heavily publicised relationships in the early 2000s – particularly with his The Break Up costar Jennifer Aniston – it seems Vince Vaughn had learned his lesson about keeping things private. This began in earnest when he met wife Kyla Weber in 2008. The pair had been introduced at a friend's wedding, but this setting made the W edding Crashers star hesitent to pursue anything.

"I was nervous to date her because it's one of my best friends' wife's best friend from childhood," Vaughn had said in an appearance on Live! With Regis and Kelly. "If it goes wrong, you're talking about awkward." Nonetheless they persisted, with the early days of their relationship being spent overcoming the long distance between the pair.

Weber was based in Alberta, a town in Canada, where she worked as a real estate agent. Meanwhile, Vaughn was used to seeing the bright lights of Hollywood, enjoying the peak of his career. But they made the differences work, with one friend commenting to People at the time, "He's a simple, Midwestern, good guy and she's very down-to-earth, which is exactly what Vince is all about.

In a 2008 interview he told Parade , "I always try to keep my relationships quiet and my work at the forefront. "For me, the biggest foundation always is that you can laugh with each other, that you have fun with each other, because life really is made up of all the little moments." "I figured this is not a ship to be missed because I will not forget this date," Vaughn explained in an appearance on Ellen that same year. So he decided to pop the question on the day of love, which "worked out great because it would have been kind of weird to have talked about [getting engaged] and then skipped Valentine's Day as if who knows when this thing is coming." It was after their engagement that everything began falling into place for the star's personal life, with the Wedding Crashers actor sharing that he started thinking about having children as soon as they confirmed their engagement.

"It's the first time that I really want to have kids," he told People in 2009, "I've been very fortunate in my career, and my life has been about that for so long that you get bored of it. You're ready for your life to be about other people and other things." Soon after they tied the knot in January 2010 they welcomed their first child, daughter Locklyn Kyla, in December 2010.

The later welcomed son Vernon Lindsay in August 2013. The kids have made some appearances at events with their parents over the years, but largely stayed out of the public eye. So it was a shock when the entire brood made Vaughn's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony a family affair.

The now grown-up children posed with their mother and father as Vaughn accepted a star in his name, crediting the success to his wife and kids in a heartfelt speech. "My beautiful wife Kyla, I'm so glad that you're with me on this now. I'm so grateful for you and these beautiful kids and for all the laughter that we share together," he gushed as he addressed the crowds.

"As much as all this means, Vernon and Locklyn, you guys really do need to know that you guys are the most important thing in the world to me." He couldn't resist throwing in a light dig at the way his family commitments have changed the priorities in his acting career, addressing the family's private nature. "You're not as lucrative – you don't give me access to the stuff that this kinda thing does," he teased his kids.

"But with that all being said, you guys are the most important, and I love you both very much. It's great to have you guys with me." FOLLOW US ON WHATSAPP HERE : Stay across all the latest in celebrity, lifestyle and opinion via our WhatsApp channel.
