LOVE Island star Chris Taylor showed off his skating skills as he tried out a VERY weird viral trend in a new video. The 33-year-old, who shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2019, decided to give hobby horsing a go. Hobby horsing is where a person rides a stick horse and leap over obstacles like you would when on a real one.
The niche hobby has been trending on YouTube since March 2023. In the video, Chris can be seen rocking tight short shorts, long colourful socks and a Everpress t-shirt. Chris said: "Hello I'm Chris Taylor , professional weirdo and I'm working with YouTube Shorts to encourage people to express their passion with pride , and without fear of judgement.
" Read more on Love Island He continued: "I've got a lot of niche hobbies, and I learnt how to do all of them off YouTube. "So we're talking fencing, trampolining, skating, and juggling." Chris then showed off how well he could skate and juggle, before trying out hobby horsing with his skates on.
The study, commissioned by YouTube Shorts, revealed that out of 2,000 adults, 14 per cent were embarrassed to share their hobbies and kept them a secret. Most read in Love Island And 46 per cent had the fear of being judged, while 38 per cent were worried that people would find it weird. YouTube Shorts has teamed up with Everpress and the brand have designed a range of free limited-edition t-shirts, which will hopefully encourage them to embrace their hobbies.
Chris Taylor said: “I'm excited to be part of a campaign that encourages people to embrace their unique interests and quirks. “With three quarters of the nation considering their passions an integral part of their identity, it's an important message to have pride in your hobbies. “As a passionate rollerskater, I love seeing niche hobbies on the rise.
” Chris had a second chance at finding love earlier this year. 54 per cent would rather learn a new hobby alone, or with strangers. 83 per cent of 18-24 year-olds see their passions as an important part of who they are.
59 per cent of the opinion having interesting hobbies influences how others perceive them. 75 per cent said seeing others enjoy niche hobbies online helps give them confidence to to do the same. Meanwhile it's 85 per cent for 18-24 year olds.
48 per cent wish they stuck to hobbies they did when they were younger. The hunk took part in the first series of the Love Island spin-off All Stars. He entered the villa as an original islander, but was dumped on day 26.
