fans will sadly be saying bye to one beloved couple. According to reports circulating online, one of the couples featured on the dating show - who were last seen on Friday 19 July’s episode - have already upped sticks and left the competition. It was reported that the duo “packed their belongings” and vacated the villa just days away from the show’s highly anticipated final.

A source spoke to The Sun and revealed: “The recoupling comes as a huge shock to everyone. It’s been a really rocky few days and tension is really high.” This means the pair are out of the running to win the epic cash prize awarded to finalists who land the top spot every year.

“It’s nearly time for the final so this last recoupling really counts. It’s a nail biting watch,” promised the insider. MailOnline reported that the exit took place after the Grafties Awards, which has yet to be broadcast and is featured on Sunday’s episode (21 July).

During the event, the islanders receive savage awards after the public vote for who they think suits the titles, with categories ranging from Unfinished Business, It’s Giving One Sided and Epic Fail. The news comes after Joey Essex recently found himself in trouble with his fellow islanders after an outburst during a challenge. While playing Couple Goals, a game in which each pair of islanders vote the names of their fellow contestants while answering questions like: “Which couple are the biggest game players?,” Joey let slip that he’d by Mimii.

Essex revealed to Jessy: “I know something no-one knows here,” before the pair vote Josh and Mimii as the couple most likely to have their heads turned. While explaining their choice Joey said: “Mimii, there’s been a few situations that I’ve been involved with that probably people don’t know about.” “Well, I was sent on a bit of a secret mission the other day,” he told the group as his co-stars looked puzzled.

Mimii and Ayo were forced to come clean and explain Mimii’s attempt to speak to Ayo on the terrace, which he later refused. The Daily Star is now on WhatsApp and we want you to join us!
