A Love is Blind star quit just hours after her engagement on the new UK series. Nicole and Sam's whirlwind relationship was featured in the first four episodes of the new show. However, it wasn't meant to be as they soon left after getting engaged.
Each of the other couples made their way to a luxurious retreat to get to know each other even better but meanwhile Nicole admitted that she was no longer engaged. She told viewers: "Sam and I are meant to be on the retreat but something didn't quite feel right." The popular Netflix series was first filmed in the US which is when fans fell in love with it but now it has moved to the UK.
It consisted of an experiment where singles have to get to know each other from behind a wall, meaning they can't see how they look. This way they fall in love with each other's personalities rather than just having a physical attracted to one another. Once they become engaged, they can then meet each other face to face and explore their relationship further.
Sam and Nicole had both had their sights set on other people but managed to fall in love during the experiment. Sam was originally dumped by Jasmine but then took an interest in Nicole who previously found a connection with Beniyah but he wasn't ready to propose. Despite Sam and Nicole becoming engaged, she then admitted it was a mistake when she saw a "sign" during the proposal.
She said: "When I took the ring, I placed it on the wrong finger, on the right finger. He didn't notice. Now I look back in hindsight that was a sign that it just wasn't right.
" Sam said: "The doors closed and it was bizarre. I started to realise that something was off, something wasn't right." Before going on the show, Nicole was married but divorced soon after and has instead decided to focus on her career of marketing.
Meanwhile Sam, 31, is a product design manager from London who says his focus on his career has meant he hasn't had much time for love. He has had his heart broken twice in the past so went on the show hoping it would be third time lucky. The new series is being presented by married celeb couple Emma and Matt Willis.
The pair have been together for almost two decades now, marrying at Rushton Hall in Northamptonshire in 2008. Shared their top-tips for newlyweds speaking to Best, Emma said: “Get ready to graft. Patience, give and take, and being able to communicate are all key.
” Matt added: “We’ve been married for 16 years now and there have been lots of ups and downs, but it’s always worth the work.
