More info One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has donated a beloved football t-shirt to Grenfell Athletic's 'Fabric of the Community' project, shortly after attending Liam Payne's funeral.
The 32-year-old is taking part in the community football club's initiative to create a kit featuring fabric from donated pieces of clothing, with some having survived the Grenfell fire and others donated by celebs. The football shirt is available from today and in honour of everyone who lost their homes as a result of the 2017 Grenfell fire, Louis donated his beloved Doncaster Rovers TC shirt. He said: "Wherever I am in the world and I have my Doncaster Rovers FC shirt with me, it reminds me of home.
"When I am touring and I see a member of the audience wearing one, I get a real feeling of home, no matter where I am." Founder of Grenfell Athletic, Rupert Taylor, said: "Our club was born out of a desire to heal and bring our community ever closer through the power of football. "We're so thankful for every person who donated their fabrics and bravely shared their stories, and we hope the project offers an additional avenue for healing and a platform for showing how inspirational our community truly is.
The hearts and souls of the people of Grenfell are woven into Grenfell Athletic's DNA, and now they'll be woven into the club's shirts, too." The news comes just h.
