Article content It’s a Glenora infill designed to fit into the community — and it does. It’s also Edmonton’s newest lottery home and comes in at just under 4,200 square feet of developed living space that is built for both everyday living and entertaining. In support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation, this French Country inspired dream home for the Cash and Cars Lottery has four bedrooms, 31⁄2 bathrooms and unlike most lottery homes, this one is located in a highly sought after central location not that far from the city’s core.

“The home is absolutely stunning, it’s one that has ...

a wow factor,” said Darren Baumgardner, board trustee with the Alberta Cancer Foundation. “But it’s not just a pretty home, it’s very livable, and the colours are so warm and inviting.” Enter the home, located in a secluded part of Glenora, and you’re transported into a property that has both character and style.

Off the entry on one side is a dark, moody den with wainscoting and Benjamin Moore’s Stonecutter paint — tones of teal and slate define this lighter shade of black. On the other side is a formal dining room, with dropped ceiling details and exterior folding doors leading to the front porch. Benjamin Moore’s Midnight Blue, a deep blue with slightly grey undertones, adds character to the space.

The rest of the main floor, with its 10-foot ceilings and eight-foot tall doors, houses the kitchen and its built-in banquette, adjacent great room, and next to that a relaxing lounge space framed by a brick wall that will house more than enough wines for most wine connoisseurs. Built by Kimberley Homes, the home is a custom design built to properly fit the 50-foot lot. That is definitely obvious on the second floor, where all three bedrooms, each with their own walk-in closets, are overly spacious as well as both bathrooms.

In fact, the main bathroom on that floor could easily be mistaken for the master ensuite were it not for its location. Bold and beautiful in mostly black and white, it has a large wet room and stunning oval tub inside it, all framed by textured glossy subway tile. The primary suite, meanwhile, is outlined by double entry doors and includes a wainscoting feature wall.

There are two sets of closets, one large and a walk-in with its own island, which leads to the ensuite where you’ll find another soaker tub, walk-in shower and a vanity with dual sinks. “The home has more of a timeless design with some contemporary features, said Lauren Hochhausen, Kimberley’s sales experience and marketing manager, adding the goal was and is to honour the character found in Glenora’s older homes. Kimberley Homes, said Hochhausen, is honoured to be invited into the Cash and Cars Program for the 15th consecutive year.

“Over the lifetime of the lottery program, millions of dollars have been raised towards cutting-edge technology and innovation, clinical trials and travel expenses for families affected by cancer,” said Hochhausen. “I don’t think there is a person who hasn’t been touched by cancer in some way, whether their own story or a family member, friend or colleague. It is a privilege for the Kimberley Homes team and partners to be a small part of the program’s massive success, and to be intertwined in our community in an impactful way.

” Cancer’s Impact The lottery, a key fundraiser for the Alberta Cancer Foundation, not only supports Alberta’s 17 cancer centres, but it also supports investment in leading-edge technology to help patients and ground-breaking clinical trials. Baumgardner noted Alberta is one of the leading spots in North America for these clinical trials. However, every day more than 60 Albertans will be diagnosed with cancer.

Some 23,000 new cancer cases are expected in Alberta in 2024. “One in two Albertans will develop cancer in their lifetime,” said Wendy Beauchesne, CEO of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. “Cash and Cars Lottery gives ticket buyers a way to support those facing cancer today and tomorrow while joining a draw for luxury homes, vehicles, vacations and more cash prize choices than ever.
