Iconic Aussie chip brand Twisties have chosen caviar as the flavour for a limited-edition version of the popular snack, in a strange move which has split opinion online. Renowned as one of the world's most luxurious foodstuffs, Aussies who have never been able to try the delicacy will soon be able to try it in chip form. The unusual flavour has yet to be formally launched, but follows a trend of novel new offerings from the iconic brand over the past few years.
"We’re taking Twisties to a whole new level with the launch of Twisties Caviar," Twisties brand manager Simon Odisho told news.com.au on Friday.
"People might be asking why we would combine the humble Twistie with one of the most luxurious flavours in the world, and we say to the critics – everyone deserves a bit of luxury in their life. "Our new flavour brings together our famous Twistie and exquisite taste of caviar into one twisted snacking experience, and we know fans can’t wait to try it." Confirmation the flavour is soon to hit shelves has kicked off talk online, with The Grocery Geek AU first sharing their thoughts on caviar Twisties through a post to Facebook.
