Based on a survey of 2,000 UK adults, the findings highlight a shift towards family reconnections, digital detoxes, holidaymakers-assisted travel planning, fitness-oriented trips, and nostalgia-driven vacations. Inspired by events like the Gallagher family reunion, 2025 is poised to be a year where travelers prioritize family bonds.
The survey indicates that 33% of respondents embark on family-focused trips at least once annually, with 21% planning to visit long-lost relatives. Additionally, 74% are open to traveling with extended family to strengthen relationships, and over half (55%) now favor family adventures over solo journeys. A significant portion of travelers are opting to disconnect from digital devices to enhance their travel experiences.
Nearly 59% plan to limit phone usage during holidays, embracing the present moment. Among these, 44% believe that disconnecting increases relaxation, 41% feel it allows them to be more present, and 32% think it leads to more meaningful experiences. Artificial Intelligence is set to revolutionize travel planning in 2025.
Over half (54%) of holidaymakers report that AI enhances their planning experience, with 37% intending to use AI for last-minute trip recommendations. Furthermore, 58% appreciate AI’s ability to introduce them to destinations they might not have considered .
