Based on insights from a survey of 2,000 UK adults, the report highlights evolving travel habits, from family-focused journeys to tech-driven spontaneity. With themes ranging from nostalgia-fueled trips to AI-enhanced itineraries, these five travel trends showcase how holidaymakers are redefining their adventures in the year ahead.

2025 marks a return to meaningful family adventures. Inspired by a desire to reconnect, one in five (21%) travelers plan trips to visit long-lost relatives, while 74% are open to traveling with extended family to strengthen bonds. Whether rediscovering roots on a road trip (70%) or celebrating special occasions abroad (80%), these journeys prioritize relationships over destinations.



Over half (55%) of holidaymakers now prioritize family travel over solo adventures, demonstrating the growing importance of shared experiences. The rise of fitness tourism is turning travel destinations into arenas for endurance and competition. In 2025, over a quarter (26%) of travelers plan to embark on fitness-related trips, participating in events like marathons (35%), triathlons (17%), and even niche contests like Hyrox (9%).
