Logan Paul says his SummerSlam match against LA Knight was his most painful outing as a WWE Superstar. The 29-year-old left officials concerned following one nasty landing in a match that saw him lose his United States Championship in one of the liveliest matches of the night in his hometown of Cleveland. It was a typically Logan Paul match where he came mightily close to retaining his title with a usual routine of underhand tactics, aided by rapper MGK .

Knight prevailed in the end, and the defeat came at a double cost to Paul, who gave WWE officials a scare after taking one particularly awkward landing with the match at its peak. Having already successfully nailed a beautiful top rope moonsault, the Maverick was hooked into a top rope superplex by Knight when he appeared to land across the back of his neck. The spot, according to Fighftful’s select, saw Paul needing to assure the match referee he was okay.

They reported via Corey Brennan: “Following the ugly landing off an LA Knight superplex, Logan Paul assured the referee he was ok at SummerSlam, despite concern by officials.” The outlet added that the nasty looking landing wasn’t a planned part of the match, with the grappler understandably in rough shape when interviewing The Undertaker on his Impaulsive podcast the following morning. Sporting a black eye, he explained to the veteran: “I’m sore, I’m in pain.

That one hurt, that was the most painful one yet. “As I was telling you, as long as I’m not injured, that’s always a blessing.” Having wrestled countless matches across his own storied, 30-year career, the Deadman concurred: “Any time you walk out and are not injured, you’ve got to count your blessings.

“You pushed the envelope anyway in a business that’s already exponentially dangerous. You just walk a little bit further out there on the edge.” Taker went further in his praise of the dethroned champion.

“Obviously it was a rough day at the office,” he continued. “But what you’ve done with your platform and that title is very impressive, you’ve actually made that title mean something. “What you did, all he places you go with your brother, and you’ve got that belt – that’s next-level commitment.

It’s made that belt relevant.” Paul lost his title in just his third defence, despite holding the gold for the better part of a year. He defeated veteran Rey Mysterio to win the US Championship in 2023, and successfully navigated a couple of defences before being unseated at SummerSlam after 279 days as champion.

"You actually made that title mean something again," Taker added to an understandably disappointed Paul. The Undertaker praised Paul for taking every opportunity to show off his belt and let everyone know what it meant to him. "That's next level commitment and it's made that belt relevant again," he told him.

WWE’s latest Premium Live Event featured a string of title changes , including Gunther’s victory over Damien Priest for the World Heavyweight Champion. The show was capped by the dramatic return of Roman Reigns in the main event as he confronted Solo Sikoa in aiding Cody Rhodes to retain his Undisputed title..
