From the bright dazzling lights of Las Vegas to the charming swampland that Shrek calls home, through to cute English villages, there's something exciting about visiting the places brought to life by our favourite TV shows and characters. Dive into some of the locations where the likes of Barbie, Harry Potter, Dune Stranger Things , Yellowstone and Ozark are set and filmed. How many have you been to? New Orleans may be a famous destination thanks to its annual Mardi Gras festivities, but did you know that it also serves as a backdrop to some of your favourite movies? The Princess and the Frog is entirely set in New Orleans, and Disney animators drew from real places for almost every aspect of the beloved film.

Disney animation chief and the movie's executive director John Lasseter is a huge fan of New Orleans and came up with the idea of setting the film there. During production, he was adamant that the film be as close to the real city as possible. "I believe in research and trying to get the details right, from the accents to the architecture to everything," he said .



The team spent time in the city, riding trams, participating in a Mardi Gras float, and consulting with locals on New Orleans culture.  The real-life cafes Morning Call and Cafe du Monde inspired the one where Tiana works, and the princess-to-be travels on the St. Charles line of the street car every day to get there.

The iconic 1951 classic film A Streetcar Named Desire was written, filmed and set all in New Orleans,. Many shots showcase the picturesque aspects of various streets and buildings of the historic French Quarter. The famous opening scene of the film shows Blanche arriving at Stella's French Quarter apartment aboard a trolley car displaying the name "Desire," on the front.

1994's Interview With A Vampire is known for its spooky, gothic but gorgeous backdrop, was led by a hunky Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. The movie was predominately shot in New Orleans. To realise their vision of an 18th and early 19th-century city, the team shot in the French Quarter of New Orleans and a purpose-built waterfront set along the Mississippi River.

A few scenes were shot at the Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 situated at 1400 Washington Avenue. Read on for more epic film locations you can visit in real life.

 And with its release in cinemas this week there has been an huge spike in Google searches related to some of the filming locations used in the movie. Experts at Travelbag revealled that Google searches for the topic have skyrocketed by 8303 per cent as fans get ready to watch the blockbuster. Here are some locations you can visit.

Interestingly, the film release has caused Google searches for 'Maine holiday' to soar 53 per cent as people get ready to explore Lily's stomping ground. And, with so many coastal towns and cities, it's no surprise it's home to some of the world's best seafood. It Ends With Us has caused demand for 'Boston holidays' to soar 125 per cent. Lily takes her first steps after college in Boston, Massachusetts, and it's a great city for tourists to visit.

With plenty of culture, history and academia, travellers can get lost in the endless array of museums, the world's finest arts, and scientific discoveries. It has just been put on Netflix in the US but is available in Australia on Disney Plus. The show, about a group of plane crash survivors who end up on a mystery island was filmed in Hawaii. The series originally ran from 2004 to 2010, and fans were hooked.

With House of the Dragon releasing a second season, it was no surprise some of its popular filming locations are trending all over the internet. In fact, the search interest for " House of the Dragon filming locations" has increased by 129 per cent in the past month following the launch of season 2, according to research done by ARKA Driftmark, the ancestral seat of House Velaryon, will be familiar to fans, and is the most searched location right now. St Michael's Mount in Cornwell, UK is the location for the fictional spot and has received a total of 2.

15 million searches, hashtags, and social media mentions. King's Landing is another major location in the show (as it was in the original Game of Thrones series), and features in plenty of notable scenes including public events, market scenes, and various interactions among the character. In real life, those scenes are filmed at the Plaza Mayor de Trujillo in Caceres, Spain.

It's currently the second most popular location from the show with a total popularity score of 1.94 million. Another location, which is prominently featured in several famous scenes, including Daemon and the City Watch enforcing justice, and Daemon and Rhaenyra night-time outing, can be also be found in Spain.

The Old Town of Cáceres is the third most popular filming location from House of Dragon right now with a popularity score of 1.62 million. The well-preserved medieval architecture and connection to the show secured its position on the list.

Beloved movie The Notebook , starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams is 20 years old. It was filmed in and around Charleston, North Carolina in the USA, which stood in for the fictional town of Seabrook, South Carolina. You can visit many of the locations in the classic weepie, including the lake where the pair get caught in the rain.
