CROSBY — Local author Darla Mae Swanson recently released a new book, “Rooted in Nature: Observations from the Wild.” Swanson’s book takes an observational journey into the wilderness with stories about the flora and fauna of the woods, lakes, prairies, mountains and sky. Filled with animated imagery, this book offers readers a compelling perspective on the beauty and wonder found outdoors.

People are invited to have desserts, coffee and wine, meet the author and mingle with fellow nature lovers. Excerpts from the book will be read at 7 p.m.
