“The idea for this book has literally haunted me for years,” Wilson explains. “In fact, it was first conceived as a movie and was close to production when the pandemic shut everything down. It was then that I decided to turn it into a novel.

There, she starts to hear troubling whispers and fears she may be having another breakdown.



But as the whispers escalate into ghostly visions of a little girl, her need to hold on to her sanity is outweighed by the desperate hope of reconnecting with her deceased daughter. However, as the hauntings continue, they start to reveal a terrifying secret that could tear the family apart. But can Catherine trust her senses? Or is she descending into madness? Originally from Texas, Wilson now calls Saratoga Springs home.

He says that late fall, when most of the leaves have fallen, always puts him in the mood for good old-fashioned ghost stories, including local legends of real hauntings. But has he ever seen a ghost? “I’m a skeptical believer,” Wilson explains. “But my kids both have seen things – when they were kids and as adults.
