“Green Grass, Dark Night” by Joy Kloman HOOD RIVER — Local artist Joy Kloman was one of six artists invited to participate in an international art residency in Latvia in July. The residency was hosted by the Rothko Museum and Balvi Municipality. The symposium concluded with the artworks being exhibited in the Vilaka City Museum.
Two of Kloman’s paintings created during the symposium were acquired for the permanent collection of the Valdis Bušs Art Centre. Featured is one of those works, “Green Grass, Dark Night,” acrylic on canvas, 36 by 24 inches, pictured above. Kloman owns Joy’s Art Studio, located on the Hood River Heights.
