The cooperation department is bracing up for action on five chief executive officers of the primary agriculture cooperative societies (PACS). Action is also to be taken against secretaries of 13 societies, and explanations have been sought from secretaries of 92 organisations. In a release the department informed that the action is being taken as the names of farmers eligible for the waiver were not sent.

They are alleged to have recommended loans which were not taken between 12/12/2018 and 9/12/2023 for waiver. Explanation has also been sought from secretaries of 105 PACS which had wrongly calculated principal and interest. The registrar has ordered that action be taken on them if found guilty.
