Kelvin Higginbotham, 55, was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on counts of domestic abuse and illegal use of a weapon. The Sheriff's Office responded to a complaint just after midnight Monday about a domestic disturbance in the Denham Springs area.

One round was fired from a personal weapon inside the residence during the disturbance, according to Sheriff Jason Ard. "Our LPSO DV Division has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for ALL," Ard said in a Facebook post. Higginbotham has worked part-time with the LPSO Marine Division since May 2023 and also worked as a reserve deputy.



He was terminated immediately, the Sheriff's Office said..
