Emergency services are at the scene after a person was hit by a train today (Thursday, July 25). The incident has taken place between Welwyn Garden City and Hitchen near Hatfield. We currently have no information on the person involved, with the incident first reportedly shortly before 4pm.

Railway lines between London Kings Cross and Cambridge and Peterborough are blocked - and disruption is set to continue until 9pm. A National Rail spokesperson said: "A person has been hit by a train between London Kings Cross / Moorgate and Hitchin. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
