LIMERICK All Star hurler Dan Morrissey is engaged to his long-term partner Yvonne Maher. The private couple are understood to have gotten engaged a number of weeks ago. Dan, aged 31, from Lisnagry, joins fellow senior stars David Reidy and Will O’Donoghue in getting down on bended knee in 2024 while Shane Dowling walked down the aisle just before Christmas.
A photo shared on the social networking site, Instagram, shows Yvonne sporting a beautiful ring on her finger. In the background is a smiling Dan, a beach and picture perfect blue sky. The Ahane GAA clubman has been a huge part of the Limerick team’s five All-Irelands since 2018 and six Munster championship titles since 2019.
He has been a rock at half back and full back and even popped up with a point in the 2022 All-Ireland final against Kilkenny. Lifting the Mick Mackey Cup, named in honour of the Ahane great, has been particularly proud for Dan and brother Tom. He went on to complete the Chartered Accountancy (CAI) exams and Chartered Tax exams with the Irish Tax Institute. Dan is now a senior tax manager. Wife-to-be, Yvonne, is equally a high achiever with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education .
