"Standing before me was Death, but I'd never been so happy" The first full trailer for Robert Eggers ‘ highly anticipated Nosferatu remake has been released and offers a haunting new look at the film. Murnau classic, with a heavier emphasis on gothic horror helmed by Eggers. It stars Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, while Bill Skarsgård will play the titular vampire Count Orlok, with a bloodthirsty infatuation The new trailer sees Hutter recounting her dreams, where everyone around her is slaughtered but that she’d “never been happier” in the face of death. The tensions rises throughout the rest of the trailer, before Hutter and Orlok finally come face-to-face, though we never really see the vampire, just his shadow.



The closing shot of the trailer also recreates an iconic shot from the 1922 original. Watch the trailer below. Nosferatu also stars Willem Dafoe , Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson , Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney.

The film is due to hit cinemas on Christmas Day (December 25) in the United States and on January 3 in the UK. Nosferatu will mark Eggers’ fourth feature film, after making his debut in 2015 with the acclaimed The Witch, and then following it with 2019’s celebrated The Lighthouse . Eggers’ last film was the 2022 epic The Northman .
