And now their likeness has been immortalised in the new series of Emily In Paris, as the show’s costume designer revealed she recreated looks from Hollywood’s ultimate fashion icon .
Launched today (Thurs), the fourth series of the Netflix comedy-drama will feature the 35-year-old actress going skiing in a faux-fur hat and jumper with oversized sunglasses. The look will be instantly recognisable to fans of Audrey’s 1963 film Charade. Costume designer, Marylin Fitoussi, said it was her idea to recreate the look, and was even able to obtain the original sunglasses worn by Audrey which are usually kept under lock and key at the Musée de la Lunette in Morez, France .

Every season we have a tribute to Audrey Hepburn, it’s part of the game now.’ Following the emotional fitting, Audrey’s Pierre Marly sunglasses were reproduced for Lily by the same opticians for filming on the series.

In another scene, Emily is seen zipping through the streets of Rome on the back of a vespa reminiscent of Audrey’s 1953 film Roman Holiday. Lily is accompanied by Italian co-star Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Emily’s new love-interest, and channels Audrey’s leading man Gregory Peck in a red jacket and black loafers .

In a nod to French fashion, the British-American actress looked chic in a Yves Saint Laurent brown top, teamed with a brown midi skirt, black court shoes and a pair of Cartier earrings. While in the Netflix series, Emily typically sports long glossy locks, Lily debuted a demure new bob.
