Mazwai said her songs are to foster change and encourage love and justice in the world. Musician Thandiswa Mazwai has found herself in the middle of the Miss SA controversy on X after asking gender justice and social activist Anele Mda to remove her song Nizalwa Ngobani in a clip she shared. The activist took a video showing an email she had sent to the Miss SA organisation.

In the email, the activist called for the pageant to remain an exclusive space for South African contestants. Mazwai explained why she was not pleased about the matter and said Nizalwa Ngobani was speaking to African Unity. "I do not write songs that must be used for hate.

My songs are to foster change and encourage more love and justice in the world," she wrote. She wrote a few posts on her X account after some users from the original post commented on hers, with some insinuating that her stance would get her unfollowed on the social media platform. "Please unfollow me if you think Pan-Africanism is the same as allowing criminals to run amuck in this place.

" Unfollow me if you think foreigner only means black people from other parts of the mama land," she added. Chidimma Adetshina has been charting the trend list since the authenticity of her citizenship was questioned. She said her father was not the person featured in the widely circulated clip from an interview on the Ben Stesh podcast. "It has been brought to my attention that there is an alleged interview going around about my father. The individual in question, claiming and impersonating to be my dad, is not my father," she wrote on social media.

Kenny Kunene, deputy president of Gayton McKenzie's Patriotic Alliance, said the party was considering its options to establish Adetshina's citizenship. "As the Patriotic Alliance, we are therefore pursuing legal avenues to investigate this matter, including Adetshina's participation, if necessary," Kunene said.
