NOEL Gallagher infamously quit Oasis in 2009 - yet it appears his little brother Liam has issued an olive branch every show since. The sweet gesture came to light after the Britpop rockers revealed the exact dates and locations of their 14-gig reunion tour today. The domestic leg of the Oasis Live 25 tour will see the siblings head to their native Manchester as well as Dublin, Cardiff, London and Edinburgh.
The Wonderwall band's big split came in August 2009 as the band prepared to go onstage at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris. An argument promptly broke out, with Liam said to be left wielding Noel’s guitar around “like an axe." The show was then cancelled, along with the rest of the tour and Noel issued a statement which read: “It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.
"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.” Yet Wall Of Glass vocalist Liam appears to have given a nod to his elder sibling - despite their public war of words - during his gigs since. Earlier this year, he confirmed he reserves a seat at every gig for High Flying Birds star Noel.
It came after a fan spotted a vacant seat with Noel's name on at a gig in 2014. This prompted one fan to take to social media site X to ask Liam: "Is it true that you save a seat for Noel in every gig?" He replied directly from his account and put: "Yes you never know." In another touching gesture, Liam dedicated a track to Noel at the Reading Festival this weekend.
