As many others do, I adore the live tigers LSU has had over the years and am extremely thankful that LSU has always taken incredible care of them. That being said, I always struggled with the tiger being brought into the stadium. Some would go a step further and say it's not right to have a live, wild animal mascot to begin with.
I was incredibly happy that when Mike VII came onto the scene LSU decided to make his home a sanctuary and that he would not be paraded around the stadium for the sole purpose of our entertainment like his predecessors were. It always seemed like a happy medium to me. Don't we have enough to entertain ourselves with these days that we don't need to consider bringing back this outdated tradition? Leave Mike VII be.
