I wish to thank all Americans who still believe in the American spirit as founded by our founding fathers of many years ago. The foundation of liberty and freedom holds true through the belief that a constitutional democratic republic will lead the way for a United States of America, with “Old Glory” flying on high. With that said, it is my deepest desire to thank all the volunteers that have helped the American Flag Fund Committee at the Westerly Armory to keep alive our flag program of installing dedicated American flags (“Old Glory,” the “Star Spangled Banner”) along the streets of Westerly from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.
Also, to all that have made generous donations in support of this patriotic flag program. To the Boy Scouts of Troop 16, led by Felix Martinez and his staff, who understand the principals of duty and obligation toward a free nation. To Boy Scout Troop 9 in Pawcatuck, for filling that same obligation.
To all my regular folks that help me year after year, that believe in that red, white and blue, like Ralph Wernett, Mike Brankert and Joe Ruisi, Kristen Wood and Kathy LaPietra, Will Maychek, Bruce Algier, Bruce Bolt, and our man Phil Rowe. I’m indebted to them all for the early mornings, and braving the cold, as well! Thank you! To the other volunteers that have come from time to time, like Steve and Sherry Ornberg, Bill Siano, Jean Gagnier, and many others, thank you! To the towns of Westerly and Pawcatuck for their support. The Westerly De.
