Leicestershire people and visitors have nominated their favourite attractions around the county and the finalists can now be revealed for the Best Day Out in Leicestershire. The award is part of the 2024 Tourism and Hospitality Awards, which take place next month. The organisers, Leicestershire Promotions, have now revealed the 21 finalists in the Best Day Out category, nominated by public vote.

They include all-year-round attractions like Bradgate Park and the Great Central Railway as well as annual events such as Cosby Yarn Bomb and the Market Harborough Carnival. Martin Peters, chief executive of Leicestershire Promotions, said: “Opening up this category for public nomination has been really popular and successful. We look forward to revealing the deserved winners at the renowned ceremony in December.

That means the 13 winners in each category - including the best day out - will automatically proceed to the shortlist of the national awards. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be announced at a ceremony which will be held at the Athena in Leicester on Wednesday, December 4.
