Rebecca "Becki" Lee, passed away on Nov. 4, 2024, in St. Joseph, at the age of 71.
Born on Feb. 12, 1953, in Carthage, Missouri, Becki's life was marked by her loving spirit, intelligent mind and boundless energy. Becki earned a bachelor's degree that paved the way for a diverse and impactful career.
Her professional journey was characterized by a deep commitment to service, as she served as a switch master for the railroad, a probation officer in Lancaster County, Nebraska, a substance abuse program director, an administrator for MRDD services and a mental health specialist. In each role, Becki's dedication to improving the lives of others was evident and unwavering. She shared a beautiful and enduring love with her husband, Christopher Moore, and together they blended a family that included her beloved children, Margaret "Maggie" Ann (Jeff) Delaney and Sarah Lee; as well as her step-children, Sydney (Travis) James and Aaron Moore.
Becki's role as a grandmother was one she embraced with joy and enthusiasm, showering her grandchildren, Carter Bos, Joseph, Owen, Samuel, and Zachary Delaney, as well as her step-grandchildren, Zeke Duncan and Gemma Leigh James, with love and wisdom. Becki's interests painted the picture of a woman who found beauty and pleasure in the simple things like gardening, reading and music. Her life was a testament to the power of love, and the impact one person can have on the world around them.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to.
