However, VR offers a key advantage: it allows for simultaneous training of up to 25 people, compared to the traditional method where training was conducted individually. “With virtual reality, 25 people can now practice simultaneously, with an average of eight to ten complete exercises in less than an hour, which was previously done individually, in four hours and for the same number of people,” Echeverría explained. This dramatic reduction in training time not only makes the process more efficient but also frees up valuable resources, allowing more crew members to be trained in a shorter period.

Following the successful implementation of the initial VR course in Chile, LATAM Airlines plans to extend this innovative training approach to its subsidiaries in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Paraguay. Each subsidiary will evaluate the effectiveness of the VR training and consider incorporating it into their own crew training programs.
