This update marks a significant shift from the previous single-entry visas, which allowed a maximum stay of only 30 days.

In addition, Laos has established Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in locations like Savannakhet and Vientiane. These zones offer relaxed visa and business regulations, designed to stimulate investment and foster tourism development within the country. Laos also facilitates overland border crossings with neighboring countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and China.
