Charlix XCX’s signature shade of slime green will light up Auckland’s Sky Tower on Thursday night after news the electropop star will headline Laneway Festival 2025 on both sides of the Tasman. A spokesperson for the festival confirmed to the Herald the landmark will be illuminated from sunset, but “will be best viewed after 8pm”. Several other landmarks in Australia will also glow green to celebrate Charli XCX’s upcoming performances.
Melbourne’s Town Hall, Perth’s Trafalgar Bridge and Council House will be Brat- ified on Thursday, while Marina Mirage Sails on the Gold Coast and Brisbane’s Hotel X were lit up overnight on Wednesday. Confirmation of Charli XCX’s headlining slot on Wednesday followed widespread speculation , with distinctive green billboards popping up around New Zealand and Australia ahead of the official announcement. Despite rumours Chappell Roan would also be performing, the pop star is not on the line-up.
