Lady Gaga has praised Celine Dion, calling her one of the few truly supportive women in the music industry as the two stars are set to perform a dazzling duet at the Olympics. The pair are rumoured to be performing a duet of Édith Piaf's classic “La Vie en Rose” at the opening ceremony, and in front of thousands of people as the sporting event kicks off in Paris on Friday, July 26. Celion teased her fans after posing for a photo outside of the Louvre Museum and posting the picture to her Instagram page with 7 million followers.

It is believed the two singers are staying at the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-Élysées. Dion, who is French-Canadian, also teased her appearance in a post on X, writing: “Every time I return to Paris, I remember there’s so much beauty and joy still to experience in the world . I love Paris, and I’m so happy to be back!” It might not be surprising to some fans that the pair are taking the stage together, given how they’ve supported each other’s careers.

Back in 2018, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer, 56, supported Lady Gaga , 38, at her Las Vegas residency. Fans were elated after spotting Celine in the crowd as she lip-synced to Lady Gaga's famous lyrics. Lady Gaga later went on to praise Celine for being one of the few women she can count on for support.

She gushed: "I swear to you, the number of women that I can count on one hand that are supportive in this industry, it's like, I would lose fingers, okay? You are amazing." The lineup for the opening ceremony is being kept tightly under wraps, with French singer Aya Nakamura being the only confirmed performer so far. The rumoured duet will mark Dion’s first stage performance since 2022, after she cancelled her world tour and revealed that had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare and incurable neurological condition that often causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms.

Back in April, Dion opened up about returning to the spotlight amid her health woes, telling Vogue France : “The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror, and sing to myself. I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team.

I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!” It comes amid a recent report that Eurostar trains to Paris have been cancelled and others diverted after “co-ordinated acts of malice” ahead of the Olympics. Eurostar said: “Due to co-ordinated acts of malice in France, affecting the high-speed line between Paris and Lille, all high-speed trains going to and coming from Paris are being diverted via the classic line today Friday July 26.

This extends the journey time by around an hour-and-a-half. Several trains have been cancelled. Eurostar’s teams are fully mobilised in stations, in the call centres, and onboard to ensure that all passengers are informed and can reach their destination.
