Kym Marsh has shared her 'promise' to her mum as she shared an emotional family update. The actress and presenter took to social media to reveal it was her mum Pauline and dad Dave's wedding anniversary on Wednesday (July 24). But fans of Kym will know that she and her family were devastated earlier this year when Dave died, at the age of 78, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He publicly shared his prostate cancer diagnosis in 2021. He appeared on BBC's Morning Live with Kym and Pauline, saying he wanted to make others aware of the symptoms and to seek medical help when they recognise them. Kym has since openly shared her grief journey with her fans and followers, with many firsts without Dave along the way. The latest being what would have been his and Pauline's wedding anniversary. The former Coronation Street star took to Instagram and shared a gorgeous black and white picture of her parents together during happier times, seemingly enjoying a dance together.

Captioning the poignant photo, Kym wrote: "Today is Mum and Dad’s wedding anniversary. 59 years today. He may not be here physically @marshyswife but he will be around you always.

To be with you both was truly to be in the presence of love and devotion. That will never die." Instagram The 48-year-old then added: "We’ve got you mum.

Promise. Love you both with all of my heart always," before messages of love and support came flooding in. @itsdonnaroberts said: "Happy anniversary to them, love never dies darling.
