Tuesday, August 20, 2024 Kyiv Independent to Launch Travel Show ‘Dare to Ukraine’ The Kyiv Independent is set to premiere an exciting new travel show titled “Dare to Ukraine.” This six-episode series, hosted by Masha Lavrova, will take viewers on a journey through six distinct regions of Ukraine, showcasing the country’s rich culture, stunning architecture, delicious cuisine, and vibrant local life. The first episode of “Dare to Ukraine” is scheduled for release on the Kyiv Independent YouTube channel on August 31.

Reflecting on her decision to return to Ukraine after eight years abroad, Lavrova shares, “A year ago, I followed my heart and made the bold move back to Ukraine, not knowing that the home I was searching for was the one I had left behind. During my first month back, I was struck by the idea to create a travel show about rediscovering my own country. Now, a year later, that idea has come to life, even amid the challenges of wartime.

” Ukraine, Europe’s largest country, boasts a rich history and modern vibrancy that has often been overshadowed by Russia’s full-scale invasion. Through “Dare to Ukraine,” the Kyiv Independent aims to shift the narrative, offering viewers an authentic look at the nation’s beauty and resilience beyond the headlines of war. “This project is one of my favorites,” says Toma Istomina, deputy chief editor at the Kyiv Independent.

“Not only is producing a travel show during wartime a bold endeavor, but it also feels like an act of defiance against Russia’s attempts to isolate Ukraine. Our show goes beyond the war, offering a genuine glimpse into Ukraine’s history, culture, nature, businesses, and people.” “Dare to Ukraine” will introduce viewers to various Ukrainian cities and offer recommendations for potential visitors, while also highlighting the ongoing impact of Russia’s aggression on these communities.

The show underscores the enduring spirit of the Ukrainian people and the importance of their cultural heritage. Lavrova adds, “The war has made us look at our country with fresh eyes, realizing what’s at stake and why it’s worth fighting for. My mission is to help the world discover the beauty, strength, and resilience of my homeland.

” The Kyiv Independent invites viewers to subscribe to their YouTube channel to watch the first episode of “Dare to Ukraine” on August 31. The show is also open for commercial partnerships and sponsorships, offering brands a unique opportunity to be part of this impactful project..
